Royal DoultonGordon Ramsay Maze Blue 16-Piece Set

I've looked and looked for new dish set. I want the dishes to be microwaveable, dishwasher safe, reasonably priced, sturdy, not too heavy, and stylish. I don't want a boring white because I want to visually enjoy my food as I'm eating them. Plus, we have equal number of males and females (me, husband, son, daughter) so the dishes cannot be too masculine or feminine.Gordon Ramsay's Maze Blue is absolutely perfect. My husband loves them because they are masculine with the blue and clean lines. Yet the light blue and simple lines are visually appealing to both my daughter and I. The food looks fabulous when I placed them on the plate or bowls.So far it went through microwave and dishwasher just fine. (Looks new even after several: pot-and-pan, hi-temp wash, + santi-rinse) The Maze Blue mug is now my husband's favorite because it's light yet not flimsy.Finally after 6 months of searching, I'm having the Goldie Locke moment of "Just Right" whenever I look at these dishes. And yes, I will be purchasing 2 more sets because we absolutely love them!

I don’t want to write a review, because I want to save all of them for myself! Other people might like it and buy it. I think that as far as durability goes, they’re that durable. Not the most, but good.

I ordered service for 8 for everyday use by our family of four. They are a beautiful shade of robin's egg blue (not too green), they have a nice weight and size and they feel and look more expensive than a lot of other dinnerware sets in this price range. They also coordinate well with my white Fiesta Ware if I want to mix and match casual serving pieces. I couldn't care less about the celebrity name, and wish the label simply said just Royal Dalton because these are high quality dishes that don't require cheesy validation from a TV chef. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching Gordon Ramsay on certain shows, but I don't necessarily need the box containing my dishes to be covered in a photo of his face that is twice life size. Kind of creepy, really.

These are a beautiful light blue set with ridges of concentric rings that remind me of my mom's old Fiesta plates! Different from the Fiesta ware, these dinner and salad plates have cupped sides, allowing one to enjoy more sauce or liquids on a plate. Bowls are wider and shallow than other brands. The mugs are also unique, formed in an upside down cone shape. They feel comfortable when handling hot liquids.Although I really enjoy these dishes, I wish there were more color options.

After two weeks, I am completely pleased with this set. The look is nice, the color is very nice. This isn't fine china, and isn't sold as such, but it does seem to be of a higher quality than you often see at discount department stores. I grew up eating off Franciscan China, and this set doesn't have that level of quality and appeal, but it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars for a set for ten either. I wouldn't be embarrassed to use these dishes when entertaining in a semi-formal setting.I will also add that I bought three sets at a time, all three sets match perfectly. Two were Warehouse deals, priced at $49 per set, one was listed as having less than ten percent of pieces damaged, the other was listed as packaging damage. The third set was a new normal set at normal price. I couldn't tell the difference in packaging in two of the three sets, the only difference was in the third set that was listed as damaged pieces was that it had been opened and resealed, the packaging was otherwise perfect. The set with damaged pieces? One of the small plates had a very very small chip on the bottom, that plate is being used with the rest.

I just purchased a set of these. The color is a little deeper than it looks on line, which is what I was hoping. The bowls stack really easily in the dishwasher. The sides of the dinner plates slope a bit more than I would like (it's like a very wide shallow bowl), but it's ok. The plates would stack in the dishwasher a little easier if they weren't so sloped. They are beautiful dishes and look great against my wood table. The coffee cups are a nice size and nicely proportioned.02/17/15 After having used these dishes a little longer, I now really like that the plates have such sloped sides. I ordered two more sets; the red and what supposed to be teal. The teal was not really teal at all but really just a darker blue than this set. I ended up returning both the red and the "teal" and getting two more sets of this blue. I really LOVE the color of these dishes!

One of my dinner plates cracked, from the edge to the middle, after putting some hot food on it a few days ago. I wrote to Royal Doulton asking for a replacement. They asked for lots of info, including photos and a copy of the invoice (thanks Amazon for the purchase record) and their response was to deny it was a defect and instead blame me for “handling”. This is not a chip or dropped / broken plate, it’s a hairline fracture running along both sides covering half the plate. This is heat damage.A company that blames the customer for a poorly made product deserves no one’s business. I would recommend prospective customers look elsewhere.

Gorgeous. This set was just gorgeous and there are many pieces online that can be added. Teapot, serving dishes, bakeware items, but if you want the actual teacups with matching tea cup saucers they were limited in production and you can only find one or two at a time. They can be found at Royal Doulton in London online but I think I got the last set of 8 and I fell lucky to have found them. Immediately the prices went up. The other pieces are excellent quality and they set a beautiful table. Food looks good on them (unlike some colors of dinnerware) and the bakeware is to DIE for.......

I thought they might be a bit heavy when I first received them. However, after a month of using them I think they are perfect. Love the quality of the blue sets I purchased. Shipping was fast and no broken items!

I already had a few pieces of the Gordon Ramsay Maze blue and wanted to add more. My husband loves the bowls for his cereal in the morning. My only disappointment was these dishes are much lighter in colour than I expected. They work together so didn't return and we love them!!
