Q: Has this been discontinued? I cant find it in stock anywhere other than Amazon for double or triple the store price

Walmart has it in the large bottle, too. However, the smaller bottle has been discontinued. Someone at McCormick told me today that it was discontinued back in 2020. Shame....people who live alone are unlikely to be able to use up this huge bottle. I hate wasting food, especially expensive foods, but I know as much as I want to try this black garlic, I could never use up that much of it in 30 months, which is the maximum shelf life according to McCormick.

Q: Why can't you make one 100% true to label "black garlic powder"? i bought, am shocked it contains other non-black garlic ingredients. truth please.

Looks can be deceiving, this type of garlic is mild, rich in concentrated flavor, and a little sweeter than regular garlic, but this product is blended for a variant of umami taste. I like it. Close your eyes if black garlic freaks your senses out and you’ll be surprised.

Q: How long can this product be used?

Unless you are using dried herbal seasonings these should last a long time, longer than the use-by date I find. Of course, it only lasts as. long as you have some left, your results may vary! I’ve seen people complaining about the container not being full and while I would agree that the product photo shows it to be a full to-the-top shaker, the reality is these are sold by weight, not volume. It only looks sketchy but they can’t be too full or they won’t shake out properly and that would give people something else to gripe about. Seriously people, weigh the product on a food scale and take notice of the 18.6 oz on the label. Unless you aren’t getting that much + the weight of the container, then something really isn’t right so return it.
