Well worth the hours on the couch!!!
So, this is what I spent my day doing, sitting on the couch, eating cheese doodles and suzy Q's with a (few) cans of real sugar Pepsi, (it was still early in the day). I am not an audiophile, nor am I a cinema guy, just a dude who digs tunes and watching live shows. First, the set list is great, for a die hard Cure fan, (I am not die hard, but there is very little I dislike from this band, I say I am not a die hard since I cannot tell you what Simon Gallup's side band was when he left during the pornography album, nor can I tell you if Porl has any hobbies, but I digress) The package was cool, but I hate this large box sets that do not fit in with my standard CD's and Vinyl. The Slip inside the box itself was weird in that it will not stay flush with the opening of the box, and not that I have OCD or anything, but I tried six different ways to make it stay flat and I am lost on how to do that. On top of the fact that the blu-ray slip is flimsy, the book is eh. It is great to have pictures and all, but once I perused it, it is as good to me as any Radiohead CD after OK computer, I mean I might as well put them all up on "Letgo" as a package deal and try to get enough money for the next time the McRib is back. So, aside from the packaging, which is a nice to have, but so not thought out for a fifty something to stuff in his house amongst all the kids crud. Now on to the show, dam, it is so much fun to sit and watch Simon and the rest of the band play and Robert's voice is never off, I mean that guy can sing anything he has written as if he first sang it, but yet you can tell it is live so the thrill of a live version is still present in the film, I would love to say there are standouts, but it really depends on your mood, I mean I sat and watched most of it today, and I was happy, sad and delusional all throughout the day. It was great! So, getting the CD is important, because you are always going to want to listen to these tunes, some not played live in (this is where not being a die hard comes in to play for the detriment of my review) a lot of years. The reason the CD version is important, is unless you are unemployed and have not a single thing to do with your time, it is hard to watch this over and over again, and see the sun pass over you while not moving. Again, I love the show, and it is well worth the watch, but you need the CD as well to never lose the enjoyment of the shows. When you are cruising around listening to the CD, you can think back fondly of how you called out sick from work and forgot to tell your spouse you had all this free time and kicked back and enjoyed hours of pure entertainment that gave you more wild mood swings then when you heard Milli Vanilli did not actually sing, but still managed to win a prestigious award.

Two Fantastic Concerts from an Iconic Band!
The Cure are a band that I wish I had really been into since the beginning. As an MTV viewer, of course I was familiar with some songs and the persona of Robert Smith, the lead singer and creative influence of The Cure. I even bought their album "Wish", which contained the popular song Friday, I'm in Love. I remember liking some other stuff on that album, but quickly their music went off my radar (for a long time). It wasn't until just a few years ago that I truly discovered the genius of The Cure! I have subsequently purchased all their albums and concert videos. This concert video, which contains two full concerts (nearly 2 and a half hours in length!) is absolutely fantastic. Both concerts look great and sound great although they are a bit different in atmosphere due to the set lists and the venue settings. The first concert is a chronological, forward and backward trip through their song catalog, while the second concert romps through the hits and other fan favorites. In both concerts, the band sounds tight, with that layered, alt progressive sound that is both musically interesting and somewhat mystical. Overlayed with Smith's unique vocals, the experience is truly memorable. Speaking of Robert Smith, one can tell he really loves performing. Nearing age 60, he's still an iconic front man, and he sounds just as good as ever.Put this on a big screen and play it loud!

Two imaginary Discs
The Cureation disc playlist is good, but in my opinion, Tim Pope gets a little too artsy at times and tries to create a mood but just distracts from the band or music. The second disc, Anniversary is pure Cure gold! almost all of the songs the fans want to see performed live and Robert is interactive with the audience. I especially liked the way he joked about getting older. The encore on Anniversary is just for the long-time fans and freaking awesome! Closing with 10-15 on a Saturday night and Killing an Arab closes the set with how the Cure began made the disc for me. The Cure rarely even plays Killing an Arab live anymore. So, to me as a long-time cure fan, the money and wait was worth it!! I have placed the video on my computer to watch repeatedly on my server, the music is on my ipod, I framed the box and hung it as art on my wall next to my guitar. To me, it was worth every penny. Now if you could get my wife to write a rebuttal she may have a differing opinion, but oh well.

Must have despite the sizeable packaging
I would have preferred the CDs and Blu-rays minus the book in this collection as it is kind of bulky and I was lucky the packaging didn't cause damage to the discs during shipping which were loose as I opened it. Maybe I can downgrade to something the size of all the old album reissues someday, but this is still worth having as the music and performances are really great even 40 years on.They are really in great form here and I thought the live sets rivaled and even exceeded some of my favorite live recordings from previous live releases such as Show and Paris. It's a lot to absorb and I admit I've only seen most of the first Curaetion Blu-ray and only sampled all the songs on the 4 CDs, but I still know I'll be very happy with all the content and like what Reeves brings to the sound and can't wait for the 3 new albums if they ever materialize. We've already passed that teased Halloween release date. Need one more go around, please!

Awesome set but packaging awkward
Love this set having both the CDs and Blue ray video of the two concerts. But the packaging made it difficult to deal with. The discs are in a larger than necessary trifold held in little slots but it's huge when you open it up taking most of my desk space. I would have rather had a simple box that they just fit into. The book is ok but the photos don't look that great. I've had photos printed on black before and it just doesn't work. It's more fun to watch the videos anyway. I think just a box of the discs would have been good enough.

Una joya, excelente presentación.
Producto súper recomendable, si eres fan de The Cure no te debe faltar.

Two DIFFERENT concerts !
English is not my native language.I saw a part of a Cure concert on tv.It was 'Anniversary'I wanted to purchase/experience the complete concertFirst I did not understand it was a part of the 'Curaetion' box set.It does not matter which box you buy (DVD or Blu) There are always two discs and thus two concerts.Right now I own the cheapest 2disc set (without book)I played 'Anniversary' for an entire week (!)Good picture - good sound - Bright images (filmed outside in park)Then I played 'Curaetion'.Picture is dark, filmed inside venue, sound is lessAnd songs are from earlier period - Probably this is how they meant it to be.Some songs I did not even know they existed. (from first three albums)Probably I prefer the more contemporary Cure songsSo as I mentioned: TWO DIFFERENT CONCERTS( I prefer the Hyde Park 'Anniversary' :D )The very first song of Curaetion 'Three Imaginary Boys' is NOT in 1920/1080P HDThey managed to f0ck 0p / degrade/ downscale it to 360 4:3 picture frame ?????Why?????I could not find this anywhere on the internet.Enjoy these concerts! Cheers from the Continent!
