Esschert Design Cast Iron Cookbook Stand

this piece is practical and very attractive. it is sturdy and can support any size cookbook. I think anyone who loves to cook would enjoy this stand. the design is very pretty. the strings which hold the pages down seem a little flimsy but could easily be replaced if they ever break. I imagine they were used so they wouldn't obscure the view of the page. I have seen other stands with chains but those block part of the recipe so i think the strings on this model are better. It really looks great in my kitchen and I get lots of positive comments on it.

I was so excited when it got here, but then totally let down. Poorly designed. Can't put a book on it without tipping over. Sending it back. :(

My sister has one of these stands and I love it. The only struggle I've had is tightening the frame to the stand to hold my big book so that it doesn't fall straight down. I had to use a wrench. It could use a bit more finger space in the wing nut area to twist. It's also slightly smaller than my sister's. My sister's is black which is what's pictured here but this when I received it was black with brown brush strokes on it. Maybe the iron will age and turn black? It's a very fun and decorative stand that lasts forever!

I was so happy when I receive it. Unfortunately, the structure can't hold big book since is not strong enough. Very sad that is not that strong. But it doesn't change the fact that is beautiful and adds character at any place for decoration. I use it every day for small cooking books, papers and reading small books since I can drink my coffee while I enjoy great quality time.

The actual item is very sturdy however, the bolt that holds the stand to the base will not hold. Keeps tipping and book falls out. Would not purchase this item again

I have wanted one for years but always put it off. When I saw this one, I had to have it. Ot matches my cast iron kitchen perfectly. Easy to assemble as well.

The Esschert design cookbook stand needs some design changes made. The assembly is very poor. My husband had to really work to get the screws that tie the cookbook holder to the poorly engineered bracket so the cookbook wouldn’t tilt sideways or fall. Also the bracket is bent in the wrong place and makes tightening the base very difficult. Had to use pliers on the wingnut to get it right. Then the base didn’t even sit flat on the counter. I’m really disappointed in this stand and returning it and looking for a better quality stand. The book ledge is tiny so would be difficult to use with cookbooks.
