SpaldingWomen's Essential Capri Legging

I don't write too many reviews considering the MASS amount of stuff I buy on Amazon. I LOVE Amazon! Anyways, I felt compelled to write about these AWESOME workout pants. I just started dong Zumba and realized the sweat pants just weren't going to cut it. I'm 5'4" and near 200lbs. Square build, on the 'junk in the trunk' side. Wearing skin tight pants was not something I was looking forward to. I started at Walmart and was horrified. I ordered some others online that were 'shape wear' and I was not feeling it. First thing I learned is I was going TOO large. Us bigger girls try to hide it with clothes that aren't skin tight. Doing so made these pants do weird things in all the wrong places. Excentuating the crotch area was NOT what I was going for. The key is going a bit smaller than you would think you'd wear. I thought this would make that worse, but it actually helped round everything our instead of creasing in the wrong spots. I ended up finding a cheap pair of workout pants at Walmart that worked because I sized down. I generally wear an XL or XXL in sweat pants. I ordered these in an XL and they were not as tight as I wanted. I returned (free returns with prime! Ya!) them and got a L. Perfect fit! Even seem like they could go a bit smaller as it is not very tight in the waist, but I think a washing or two might fix that. These are a nice thick material. A matte cottony feel, not the shiny kind. They have a nice firm stretch to them. These will be my go to pants from now on! YES!

Talguy's wife here. I bought the leggings. If I could give these 100 stars I would! May you never be leggingless again. Best leggings ever. Ordered the capris in a size small length petite. I am 47 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall. They fit beautifully. Look like capris not leggings that are too short. Put them through the same test that I had the Danskin Women's Essentials Ankle Legging. This was a rigorous test since I remember the legging when it first came out. I also know the legging of present: cheap, thin, saggy, baggy, hangs in the crotch and basically unwearable after 2 months.I put a pair of these on and wore them for 3 days. I put on the white granny panties (we all own a pair) and bent over in front of a full length mirror. You could not see through them, no VPL, and no signs of stretching out when I stood up (leggings that is not my butt). I knelt, squatted, sat, bent and stretched in these things doing a variety of activities for 3 days! Not a sag, bag, droop or sign that they had stretched out. Nice substantial material...just like the days of old!Nice that the waist band comes up high. Not a fan of 'low slung' anything as I always feel like I have plumber's crack if I bend over and feel the incessant need to pull them up around my waist. These actually come up to your waist so this little ritual is unnecessary. They also fit close like a legging should. They are not a 'pant' or 'jean' style legging. They are a true legging.Look great with t-shirts and sandals or with pretty ballerina flats and a really nice stylish longer top to go out in. If you work out in a gym you can feel 'secure' and 'confident' in these. If you work out at home by yourself get all those old leggings you hate and use them for this. Save these great Spalding leggings for your wardrobe! As for washing I highly recommend washing inside out to prevent color fading, on delicate, cold water and line drying. I do this to ensure the best chances of having no shrinkage. Leggings do have cotton in them after all so I take care with how I treat them.Definitely plan on buying about 5 more pair of these!I will offer Spalding a piece of advice. DON'T EVER CHANGE THIS PRODUCT! Women really do want to reclaim their right to wearleggings again in public without putting on an inappropriate show. Your product is top notch and really delivers! If you keep delivering a good product at a great price we'll keep buying them and spreading the word about you!

I got this and really like them! I wore them twice already and they fit very comfortable. I wash them and they did not shrink or anything, the material is soft and really allows flexibility when exercising. It also seems to be true to size, I am 5'6 and weight 126 pounds and the size small fits well. I do have to say, that at times when bending down, the pants tend to come down a tiny bit-not to the point that your butt is showing, but still wish they would not do that. They do not come down much, so it really comes to down to personal preference. Another thing, if you are really having a hard core workout and sweat a lot (like I did today wearing these pants) the sweet is visible. I mean the pants are black, but still don't like the fact that it shows. Anyway, overall, very comfortable and reasonably priced! Ohhh and they really make your legs and butt looks nice :)!UPDATE 02/16/13- Do not buy these pants if you do hardcore workouts at the gym and sweat a lot. Although I like how these pants fit me, I HATE the fact that the sweat is visible!!! It is kind of embarrassing. I think this pants are made for light workouts and just for running quick errands during the day..

These capris fit as expected, they’re mostly cotton and very comfortable.

This was just as expected. Nice quality, waistband doesn't ride down. Very happy with this and will buy another one!

I am an English size 12 to 14 and normally wear a size medium in leggings, these leggings would not go past my knees, very sad.

I'm 4'11 but it doesn't let me go lower than 5ft 🤣... Very comfortable... Just enough stretch, happy with this purchase... Thank you 😁
