These have quite a strong magnet on them and the top seems to fit fairly well. Not water tight by any stretch of the imagination but if placed properly water probably won’t get into them

This works great the magnet strength is amazing it doesn't leak only reason it's getting a 4 star is because it's hard to open but that could be me....

I purchased this key holder to hide a spare key for my car in case I lock myself out or need someone to access my car in case of an emergency. The magnets hold strong to a good piece of metal like the frame. Mine is hidden on the frame within the rear bumper so there's no chance of it coming off randomly. I put a small piece of foam inside with the key so the key didn't rattle around. The door mechanism on this box clicks shut tight, and the box feels sturdier than the cheap ones you see at hardware stores, etc. It's definitely the best option out there for the price.Extra tip: If your Car key has a chip in the ignition, and you're worried that someone could drive off with your car if they find the key box try this solution: Get a key cut that only opens the doors. Don't program the key to work with the ignition. Then, you can find somewhere secure inside your vehicle to hide the ignition key. That way if a thief finds the key box, they can't drive away with your car.

I liked the strength, I was doubting it at first. It works very well, the magnet held through my crazy driving. It was very thick, I used it to keep a spare under my car. Very useful.

I wanted to be able to store both my apartment key and my car key and this is perfect with room to spare. The doors in my apartment building lock automatically behind you, so if you don't have your keys in your hand, you're locked out. Both my next door neighbor and I have been locked out and then had to go in search of the manager. I bought one for me and one for my neighbor, too. They're nice and sturdy with a strong magnet. These would make great stocking stuffers.UPDATE: I've now had this for over 2 years and it's still a super strong magnet. Never budges no matter the conditions of the road, the weather, long trips, etc. BUT - over time, it will get harder to open. The fix for me was to superglue a piece of rubbery material on the top, so you can get some grip on it when you try to slide it open, especially if it's wet. Then, you'll want to also put some petroleum jelly or some type of lubricant on the sides where it glides open and closed. I also smeared petroleum jelly on the spare keys inside, because one was trying to rust. The only problem after that, is that moisture builds up inside it. No big deal, if you have covered the keys in petroleum jelly, but beware when you open it, you'll have some water that needs to be emptied out - so you don't get water on you. I love this thing. It's saved me more than once when I've locked myself out of my apartment, or the truck. I keep a spare key for my locking gas cap in it, too, just in case.

The magnet is strong, the compartment is a perfect size, but the lid pops out and is challenging to get back in the slots properly to allow it to close securely.
